National emissions and removals of greenhouse gases were calculated by SMED, on behalf of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, for the annual greenhouse gas inventory in accordance with the guidelines under the UNFCCC. Read more on www.naturvardsverket.se/klimatutslapp (in Swedish) or in Swedish submissions of greenhouse gas inventories on the UNFCCC website http://unfccc.int/national_reports/annex_i_ghg_inventories/national_inventories_submissions/items/8812.php. When .. presents, this indicates that the value is zero In 2022, large amounts of fossil gas leaked from the gas pipelines Nord Stream 1 and 2, which run through the Swedish economic zone. This leakage contained methane and other hydrocarbons, which are not included in the statistics in SSD. Emissions of volatile organic compounds (NMVOCs) from Nord Stream within the Swedish economic zone amounted to approximately 13 thousand tonnes, close to 10% of the total emissions of NMVOCs.
