### Obs:

Mortality rate is a measure used to compare mortality between different groups. The measure refers to the number of deaths during a year per 1,000 inhabitants. The mortality rate is calculated as the number of deaths at a given age (age at death) relative to the size of the population (mean population) at this age (age during the year, i.e. age at December 31). Age-specific mortality rates for 0-year-old children are calculated as the number of 0-year-old children who died during the year in relation to the number of live births during the year.
