The table shows the number of individuals who are enrolled in the Swedish Migration Agency
receptions system on Dec. 31, regardless of the status of the asylum process. The table specifies people
with open basic dossier, open appeal dossier, rejection of the appeal dossier or
Indorsement in the basic or the appeal dossier but not yet placed in a municipality. The number of registered asylum seekers has for most years been taken from the Swedish Migration Agency central foreigner database (CUD) the night of January 1 which relate to 31 December.
One year diverge greatly, the statistics for 2006 relates to 31 January 2007.
 The table presents countries with 20 or more asylum-seekers at the end of the year. Countries with less than 20 asylum seekers are included in the group Other citizenship. In response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the EU´s Temporary Protection Directive was activated on 4 March 2022. Applications under the Temporary Protection Directive are not included in this table.
