If a person already has multiple citizenships, one of these is given priority. For more information, read the Population Statistics´ Quality Declaration (Kvalitetsdeklaration, In Swedish). The statistics for the last calendar year are preliminary and will be revised until the statistics for the period “the whole year” are published.
The statistics for previous years are final and will not be revised. The number of persons who have acquired Swedish citizenship for the years 2000 - 2014 has been revised in 2015. For those years, the calculation was based on previous nationality which resulted in double counting of persons which previously had more than one citizenship.
