The table has been updated 2017-04-25 and 2018-06-14 on account to changes in classification of treatment types. In the fall of 2019, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency renamed several of the treatment types and their groupings. These are just name changes, not changes to the content.

BIOLOGICAL RECOVERY

Biological recovery consists of composting and anaerobic digestion of waste.

INCINERATION WITH ENERGY RECOVERY

Incineration with energy recovery refers to treatment code R1 (use as fuel).

INCINERATION WITHOUT ENERGY RECOVERY

Incineration without energy recovery refers to treatment code D10 (incineration on land).

OTHER DISPOSAL

Other disposal consists of land treatment or release into water bodies.
