Now you have come to the page, Choose variable. This page give you the oportunity to select which variables and values you want to display in your result of the table. A variable is a property of a statistical unit. The page is divided into several boxes, one for each variable, where you can select values by click to highlight one or more values. It always starts with the statistics variable which is the main value counted in the table.

Obs:

The probability of dying in the highest ages based on an smoothing model. 1970 was the smoothing of probabilities of dying for 85 years and older based on the Wittsteins formula. 1971 and 1972 was the smoothing of probabilities of dying for 86 years and older based on the Wittsteins formula. Between 1973 and 1986 was the smoothing of probabilities of dying for 91 years and older based on the Wittsteins formula. Between 1987 and 2005 were the probability of dying for ages 91 years and older based on a smoothing method that were developed at Statistics Sweden. In 2012, a review of the smoothing model, which resulted in a small model adjustment and that the smoothing takes place from 95 years of age. In connection with the revision in 2012 were the life tables revised for the years 2006-2011. The life tables for the years 1970 - 2001 are based on the scanned materials from publications. The scanned material is examined, but it is possible that some figures have been misinterpreted in the process. For year 1982–1997 The mean population for 100 years refer to all who were 100 years or older. In 2012, was the method to smooth the probabilities of death for the oldest old changed. In connection with this were previously published life tables for 2006 - 2011 revised.

observations

Probability of dying (per mille)

Since 2006, death risks is calculated by smoothing of probabilities of death from 95 years and older. Between 1973 and 2006 were the death risks smoothed from the age of 91. The change in Method has resulted in a break in series.

and not the number of births.

This means that the remaining life expectancy for men is 0.02 to high in ages 0–61, 0.03 to high between the ages 62–72, 0.04 to high between the ages of 73–76, 0.06 to high for ages 80, 0.12 to high in the age of 85, 0.33 to high in the age of 90, 0.68 to high in the age of 95 and 0.70 to high in the age of 100.
