Obs:

Localities situated in more than one municipality or county, will be registrated with the municipality or county where the main part of the locality is situated. Locality references The localities that Lantmäteriet presents in the basic geodata and on general maps can sometimes differ from Statistics Sweden´s locality boundaries. Statistics Sweden´s localities are intended to be a basis for statistics, while the purpose of Lantmäteriet´s locality boundaries is to provide a basis for maps in different scales. Therefore the names that are presented in Statistics Sweden´s statistics should not be regarded as established names of localities, but as references that are representative for the marked areas, that is, a locality of Statistics Sweden. The basis for the reference is the map material from Lantmäteriet. In 2017, several locality references have been changed according to decisions of Lantmäteriet. A statistical locality is a built-up area with at least 200 inhabitants registered as resident and densely built-up areas. Information about the population is based on the Total Population Register. It includes information about registered persons per address on 31 December of the current year. Up until the urban areas of 2015, the population was linked to property coordinates. Two dots (..) mean that value is missing since the area is not classified as a statistical locality at the time. 2023
From 2023 and forward an orthogonal (flat) method is used, in coordinate system SWEREF99 TM. This gives slightly larger areas in 2023 compared to earlier years.
Land area is calculated as the total area minus the water area.
Data of Lantmäteriet (the Swedish mapping authority) with the scale 1:10 000 is used when calculating water areas.
Until the statistics of 2020, areas have been calculated using a spherical method. From 2023 and forward an orthogonal (flat) method is used, in coordinate system SWEREF99 TM.
One hectare is 10 000 square metres, or 0.01 m2, that is, the area of a square measuring 100 m x 100 m.
