The Shadow index for Sweden is published with two decimals from January 2006. Shadow index numbers differ in some months from the corresponding fixed index numbers, which are the index numbers used in regulations referring to the consumer price index in laws, ordinances and agreements. The shadow index numbers are adjusted to take into account certain inadequacies in the basic data on prices or in the methods used for calculating fixed index numbers. Thus, they are consistent with the index for main and subgroups, where corresponding adjustments have been made. From year 2026, the new reference year for the CPI will be 2020 instead of the current reference year 1980. However, the CPI with reference year 1980 will continue to be published until 2030. After that, only the CPI with reference year 2020 will be published. The annual change is calculated on shadow index numbers with two decimals.For legal and contractual index-linking, the fixed CPI totals (1980=100) with one decimal are normally used. The annual change has revised for April–July 2008. The inflation rate has been corrected 2012-10-29 for 2001M08, 2000M01,1998M03, 1997M04, 1996M11, 1996M06, 1993M07, 1992M06, 1991M07, 1991M03, 1988M03, 1986M10, 1986M09, 1986M08, 1986M03, 1983M08, 1983M05, 1982M12, 1982M03 and 1980M03. Inflation figures for January 1980–December 2004 are calculated according to the method applied since January 2005. The inflation figures published during January 1980–December 2004 and calculated using the previously used method are provided in table Consumer Price Index (CPI), annual changes (Inflation Rate, according to old method, no update after 2004M12), 1980=100.
