The Green party did not fill two seats in 1988, one in Grums and one in Ockelbo.

1991

The Sjöbopartiet did not fill one seat in Sjöbo.

1998

The Left Party did not fill three seats, two in Mjölby and one in Bromölla.

2002

The Liberal Party did not fill three seats, one in Håbo and two in Olofström. The municipal council election in Orsa was appealed against and carried out again. The reelection took place on 16 March 2003. The results presented here are from the reelection in Orsa 2003.

2006

Sverigedemokraterna did not fill 1 seat in Södertälje, Östhammar, Uppvidinge, Borgholm, Hultsfred, Svedala, Munkedal, Skara, Lekeberg, Nora, Kungsör, Surahammar and 2 seats in Tomelilla.

2010

The Green Party did not fill two seats: one in Boxholm and one in Örkelljunga. The Sweden Democats did not fill seven seats: two in Aneby, one in Bräcke, one in Degerfors, one in Flen, one in Munkedal and one in Nora. The election to the Municipal Council in Örebro was appealed against and a re-election took place for the northeast constituency on May 15, 2011. The results presented here refer to the re-election in 2011.

2014

Update 2019-11-11: The election to the Municipal Council in Båstad was appealed against and a re-election took place on May 10, 2015. The results presented here refer to the ordinary election in 2014.

Update 2019-06-18: The election to the Municipal Council in Falun was appealed against and a re-election took place on April 7, 2019. The results presented here refer to the re-election in 2019.

2002: Knivsta is a new municipality in the elections. Knivsta has broken away from the municipality of Uppsala.1998: Nykvarn is a new municipality in the elections. Nykvarn has broken away from the municipality of Södertälje. 1994: Bollebygd and Lekeberg are new municipalities in the elections. Bollebygd has broken away from the municipality of Borås and Lekeberg has broken away from the municipality of Örebro. 1991: Gnesta and Trosa are new municipalities in the elections. Gnesta and Trosa have broken away from the municipality of Nyköping. 1982: Salem, Österåker, Essunga, Malå and Bjurholm are new municipalities in the elections. Salem has broken away from the municipality of Botkyrka, Österåker has broken away from the municipality of Vaxholm, Essunga has broken away from the municipality of Vara, Malå has broken away from the municipality of Nordsjö and Bjurholm as broken away from the municipality of Vännes. 1979: Vadstena and Dorotea are new municipalities in the elections. Vadstena has broken away from the municipality of Motala and Dorotea has broken away from the municipality of Åsele. 1976: Svedala and Bara municipalities merged to one municipality named Svedala.
