Obs:

The population “refugees received for settlement in the municipality” includes persons recorded in the population register, aged 20–64 in the year after the reception year (i.e. the year in which the gainful employment is measured) and who have at some time been received for settlement by a municipality and who at that time either:
• have been covered by the ordinance (2010:1122) on state support for initiatives for certain immigrants, for which a municipality is compensated by the Swedish Migration Agency • have been covered by ”The act on introductory allowance for refugees and certain other immigrants” (1992:1068).
“Refugees received for settlement in the municipality” refers to refugees, persons in need of subsidiary protection, or persons who have been granted a residence permit on particular humanitarian and compassionate grounds, and relatives of anybody in these categories. The relative must apply for a residence permit within a certain period of time from when the related person (reference person) was initially received in a municipality.
The population changes each year due to the age limits. For example, a person who was 18 years old at the time of reception for settlement in the municipality will not not be included in the table until two years after the year of reception when the person is 20 years old. A person who is 64 years old in the year of reception is only included in the table in rows for 0 years after the reception year. In the following years, the person is over 64 years old and is hence outside of the population.
Gainfully employed
“Gainfully employed” is a term within the annual Register-Based Labour Market Statistics (RAMS) which are used to describe employment in Sweden. In RAMS, all persons who are recorded in the Swedish population register at 31 December have a status of employment which is either gainfully employed or not gainfully employed. Because the statistics cover the total population, they are often used to present employment at the regional and local level.
In order to be classified as ‘gainfully employed’, the person must have earned income exceeding an estimated limit, or have submitted tax returns for business activity during the year concerned. Information on income from salary and the period to which the income refers is obtained from the statements of earnings and tax deductions from the Swedish Tax Agency. Information on which persons have submitted tax returns for business activity is also obtained from the Swedish Tax Agency. For more information, see Gainfully employed – an employment term.
