To avoid identification, some persons are not linked at the level below the municipal level. These persons have been assigned to a DeSO/RegSO within their municipality. Incomes in fixed prices, referring to last year of data. Net income
Net income is the sum of all taxable and non-taxable income less taxes and other negative transfers (such as repaid study loans). Total earned income
Total earned income is the sum of taxable income from employment, business income, pensions, sickness benefit and other taxable transfers. Capital income is not included in total earned income. This table contains persons 20 years and older, registered in Sweden both 1 January and 31 December each year. The nationwide divisions DeSO (Demographic Statistical Areas) and RegSO (Regional Statistical Areas) apply from 1 January 2018 and 1 June 2020, respectively, and follow the county and municipal borders. RegSO has been created by aggregating DeSO. Further information on DeSO and RegSO can be found on Statistics Sweden´s website.
Between 2014 and 2015, there is a change in the method used to connect people to a specific DeSO. Before 2015, property coordinates were used, while address coordinates is used in 2015 and subsequent years. This means that there will be a minor break in the statistics on DeSO and RegSO between 2014 and 2015. Some RegSO codes have been updated with new area designations. See the Excel file Historiska förändringar av RegSO. The statistics include salaries and pension income from other Nordic countries from income year 2011. As of the publication of income year 2020, the statistics for the years 2011-2019 have been revised.
The extent of the total income from the other Nordic countries varies over time. For the years 2011–2014, data availability is limited, which is largely due to deficiencies in data from Norway. For 2011, there is basically no income from Norway. For the years 2012–2014, the macro amount for Norway is approximately half of the amount for 2015.
Further information can be found in the statistics quality declaration on Statistics Sweden website. The population consists of people who have been registered in Sweden both 1 January and 31 December of each year and who are part of a household with disposable household income different from zero (0) SEK. As of 2021, people with no information on which household they belong to are also excluded if their disposable family income is zero (0) SEK. This change is also applied retroactively back to 2011, and means that an additional 3 000–4 000 people per year are excluded from the reporting, which can be assumed to be overcoverage in the Total Population Register.
