Please state The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth and Statistics Sweden as source when publishing information. The monthly tables include preliminary statistics and are updated upon each publishing date up until the final statistics for the current year are published. The monthly tables for 1978-2016 refer to final statistics. The final statistics for 2017 will be published in the spring of 2018. The table contains data on the month’s average available beds per day and the total number of overnight stays at all hotels, holiday villages, and youth hostels, by region. To facilitate comparison over time, the statistics are reported by current regional division 2007-01-01. The monthly tables include preliminary statistics and are updated upon each publishing date up until the final statistics for the current year are published. The monthly tables for 1978–2020 refer to final statistics. The final statistics for 2021 will be published in the spring of 2022. In 1994, 150 facilities, mainly conference facilities, were added to the Hotels category as a basis for the statistics.
As from 2002, all hostels are reported under the Hostels category. Facilities not associated with the Swedish Tourist Association were previously included in the Hotels category.
The effects of the coronavirus pandemic entail risks of greater uncertainty in the preliminary statistics, in which various target characteristics in the accommodation statistics may be over- or underestimated. For this reason, statistics from March 2020 and onwards should be interpreted with some caution. As of 4 February 2022 the accommodation statistics will be published on the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growths website:
