Statistics Sweden’s statistics of Protected areas near the coast and marine surroundings includes:
1. National parks, nature reserves, nature management areas and habitat protection areas in marine surroundings, with descriptions connected to the marine and coastal environment.
2. Natura 2000 areas with marine habitats 1110-1180, 1610-1630, 1650 and 8330.
Regional marine regions based on Regions for the marine spatial planning by the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management, revised in 2019. The areas are adjusted for these statistics in particular, by drawing the boundaries into the coast, according to borders of Swedish municipalities.
