Persons received by a municipality for settlement refers to persons who were granted a residence permit as a refugee or as a person granted subsidiary protection, according to certain provisions in the Aliens Act (2005:716), and their families, and who are covered by the Ordinance on state compensation for measures for certain aliens (2010:1122). Information on the year of reception by a municipality is available as from 1997.
Up to 2016, a person was presumed to be assigned to a municipality if the person’s grounds for residency (GFB) was as a family member of a refugee/person eligible for subsidiary protection/ compassionate grounds/permit under a temporary law or other permit, refugees The years 1968–1982 shows the regional divisions according of January 1, 1983. Adjustments to reflect January 1, 1983 have been made using parish division but not on real estate level, which means that there may be gaps in the statistics.
