Obs:

A statistical method is used to protect the data of individuals in the statistics presented. For this reason, the presented totals do not always equal the sum of their reported components. The method used for disclosure control is called Cell Key Method (CKM). You can read more about the method here: [Protection methods for disclosure control](https://www.scb.se/en/documentation/statististical-methods/protection-methods-for-disclosure-control/). Time in Sweden refers to the total time a person has been registered as a resident in Sweden and is given for people who have immigrated to Sweden. Ground for settlement are grounds for a residence permit. The table reports the last registered basis for residence for the person. Note that a person may have a decision basis that is several years old. EU citizens do not need to register their basis for residence at the Swedish Migration Board. People with a foreign background are defined as persons who were born abroad, or born in Sweden with two parents born abroad. Persons with Swedish background are defined as persons who are born in Sweden with two parents born in Sweden or born in Sweden with one parent born in Sweden and one foreign born parent. The population is limited to so-called full-year households, which refers to households where the adults have been registered as residents in Sweden at both the beginning and the end of the year. Read more about the delimitations in the quality declaration for income and taxes (IoT) statistics on the Statistics Sweden (SCB) website. The statistics include salaries and pension income from other Nordic countries. Equivalised disposable income
- Disposable income is the sum of all taxable and tax-free income minus taxes and negative transfers. The income is available both including and excluding capital gains/losses, that is, the gain/loss arising from a sale (realization) of assets, for example, stocks, mutual funds or real estate.
- Incomes are equivalised, which means that the household disposable income is adjusted for household size by using a weight system. The unit of measurement is equivalised disposable income for persons.
The following scale is used in the statistics: Weight
Single person: 1.00
Cohabiting couple: 1.51
Additional adult: 0.60
First child aged 0–19: 0.52
Second and subsequent children aged 0–19: 0.42
Shared residence child aged 0–19, first child: 0.38
Shared residence child aged 0–19, second and subsequent children: 0.28

Example: A cohabiting couple with two children has a disposable income of 490,000 SEK. The household has a total consumption weight of 1.51 + 0.52 + 0.42 = 2.45. The household’s disposable income per consumption unit is therefore 490,000 SEK / 2.45 consumption units = 200,000 SEK per consumption unit. This means that the household has the same economic standard as a single person with a disposable income of 200,000 SEK.
Type of household gives the composition of the household. Persons 0–19 years old are reported by type of household, except for children with shared residence. These children are instead reported as Children with shared residence. Sources: Statistics Sweden, STATIV (Database for integration studies) and Statistics Sweden, Income and tax statistics Disposable income for persons by consumption unit < 60 percent/ > 200 percent of the national median value shows the proportion of the population that has an equivalised disposable income lower or higher than XX percent of the national median income.
