Refers to households where at least one of the adults has been registered in Sweden the whole year and where there is a registered income. Statistics on finances for families with children that were published in 2022 or later include salaries and pension income from other Nordic countries. Statistics that refer to the period 2014-2019 were revised in 2022 to include these incomes.

Refers to the proportion of children whose family has at least one of the types of social assistance, or the proportion of the familys income these types of social assistance represent.

maintenance support

Maintenance support includes both maintenance support (administered by the Swedish Social Insurance Agency) and maintenance allowance (which is handled directly by the parents). Information on maintenance allowance is not available in administrative registers, and therefore based on a model. For statistics that refer to the year 2021, this model has been updated, which means that the proportion of children with maintenance allowance will be lower, while the share of disposable income for those with maintenance allowance will be higher.
