Indirect exploitation is wetland or peatland that is covered by a 20 meter influence area around a building, railway area or road area.
Wetland is land where the water for a large part of the year is close by, in or just above the ground surface. Definition accordning to National Land Cover Database (NMD). All types of wetlands are included. Values cannot be summed, because overlapping areas. There are overlaps between exploitation types and between peatland and wetland. Statistics are produced on behalf of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. Railway areas are land used for railways, including embankments, ditches and safety zones, but excluding areas in tunnels/ under roads, other railways/buildings etc. or that share land use with road traffic, i.e. trams. In this case of multiple land use the transport area is regarded as road area. Road area for car traffic. Includes peripheral areas such as ditches and safety zones, and, in some densely populated areas, sidewalks. Road area in tunnels is not per se connected to land use and therefore excluded.
