Obs:

Sweden’s upper secondary school underwent a reform in 2011. Before this reform, the 1994 curriculum (Lpf94) applied. As from 2011, a new curriculum (Gy 2011) applies. Any comparison between results concerning school leavers from the old upper secondary school (follow-ups up to and including 2014) and the new upper secondary school (follow-ups as from 2017) should be made with caution. This applies in particular to comparisons of types of programmes, as the range of programmes and programme content have changed.

In comparisons over time, pupils with a school leaving certificate from upper secondary school are included in follow-ups up to and including 2014, and graduates with a diploma or a study certificate with at least 2500 study points are included in follow-ups as from 2017. Under Lpf 94, pupils with a school leaving certificate are comparable to school leavers with a diploma or a study certificate with at least 2500 study points under Gy 2011.

Here, vocational preparatory programmes under Lpf 94 are equated with vocational programmes under Gy 2011. Similarly, study preparatory programmes under Lpf 94 are equated with higher education preparatory programmes under Gy 2011. Under Lpf 94, the media programme has been classified as a vocational preparatory programme. Margin of error refers to a 95-percent confidence interval.

In addition to school leavers with a diploma from vocational preparatory programmes and study preparatory programmes, the 2010 survey also included 1700 pupils with a school leaving certificate from specially designed programmes. These are included in the total.

2012

In addition to school leavers with a diploma from vocational preparatory programmes and study preparatory programmes, the 2012 survey also included 2100 pupils with a school leaving certificate from specially designed programmes. These are included in the total.

2014

In addition to school leavers with a diploma from vocational preparatory programmes and study preparatory programmes, the 2014 survey also included 2000 pupils with a school leaving certificate from specially designed programmes. These are included in the total.
