Footnotes

Shoreline population:
A person who lives close to the water is a part of the shoreline population if that person is registered at an address within 100 metres from the water. Information about water has been collected from Lantmäteriet´s (the national land survey office) real estate map, scale 1:10 000. Only water courses wider than 6 metres are included in the 2-dimensional surface water on the real estate map. Information on the population has been collected from the Total Population Register 2013-12-31 linked with the address point.
living
in localities
A locality (urban area) is a settlement with at least 200 inhabitants, houses normally no more than 200 metres apart. A locality can consist of a maximum of 50 percent holiday homes. The statistics in this table have been calculated based on the locality boundaries, combined with the population 2013-12-31.
