Locality
Since 1960 Statistics Sweden has defined areas with continuous buildings and a population of at least 200 inhabitants. Localities thus include everything from the largest cities to small areas with only 200 inhabitants. Statistics Sweden does not have its own definition of sparsely populated areas or countryside areas.
Due to quality improvement in the building register, data for all years have been revised.

type of property

Classification of buildings by type of building is derived from the Real Property Register.

type of property

Calculation of building ground space area is based on a combination of register information from the Real Property Register and building features from the Cadastral map. In case a building feature from the Cadastral map does not correspond to a records in the register, type of building has not been possible to determine. Ground space area of such buildings is classified as uncoded.

type of property

A confusion between classification of agricultural buildings and supplementary buildings may occur in the Real Property Register. To a large extent, agricultural buildings have been classified as supplementary buildings.
