Locality
Since 1960 Statistics Sweden has defined areas with continuous buildings and a population of at least 200 inhabitants. Localities thus include everything from the largest cities to small areas with only 200 inhabitants. Statistics Sweden does not have its own definition of sparsely populated areas or countryside areas.
Holiday home area
Concentration of at least 50 buildings classified as holiday homes. Distance between holiday homes is no more than 150 metres.
Smaller locality
Contiguous settlements with 50–199 registered inhabitants.
Number of localities/smaller localities/holiday home areas by region. An area located to more than one administrative region, is counted as one in each of the individual regions.
