Exclusive economic zone (EEZ)
A zone outside Sweden´s territorial border. The zone is measured as the surface of the sea.
Some marine Natura 2000 areas are located outside Sweden´s territorial border and the EEZ but are in fact small marginal parts of larger marine Natura 2000 areas located in the EEZ. These areas are the result of differences in data quality and scales. The areas are included in statistics at national level, but not at county level.
