Obs:

Net income Net income is the sum of all taxable and tax-free income minus taxes and negative transfers. The income is both including and excluding capital gains/losses, that is, the gain/loss arising from a sale (realization) of assets, for example, stocks, mutual funds or real estate. The difference between net income and disposable income is that disposable income refers to household income. Net income shows the individual´s income, that is what the individual contributes to the household´s disposable income. Age
Age is based on the person´s age at the start year of each period.
Income group
The population is divided into ten groups of equal size sorted by rising income. For example, a person in the first decile belongs to the ten percent of the population with the lowest incomes, and a person in the tenth decile belongs to the ten percent of the population with the highest incomes.
The income group refers to each person´s initial decile of respective period.
Number of years in initial income group
Number of years in initial income group refers to the number of years the person is in its initial income group (i.e. income group at the beginning of the period) in each period.
Period
The first year of the period refers to the starting year and last year to the end year of the period.
Region of birth Country of birth is grouped by continent. The classification refers to the most recent reference year of the statistics. Europe excl. EU28 and the Nordic countries include persons born in the Soviet union. North America includes Central America, and Oceania includes Australia and New Zeeland. Level of Education
Level of Education is classified by SUN.
The statistics include salaries and pension income from other Nordic countries from income year 2011. As of the publication of income year 2020, the statistics for the years 2011-2019 have been revised.
The extent of the total income from the other Nordic countries varies over time. For the years 2011–2014, data availability is limited, which is largely due to deficiencies in data from Norway. For 2011, there is basically no income from Norway. For the years 2012–2014, the macro amount for Norway is approximately half of the amount for 2015.
