Footnotes

Age
Age is based on the person´s age at the start year of each period.
Income group
The population is divided into ten groups of equal size sorted by rising income. For example, a person in the first decile belongs to the ten percent of the population with the lowest incomes, and a person in the tenth decile belongs to the ten percent of the population with the highest incomes.
Start year and end year refers to the first and last year of each period. The persons may be in other decile groups in the years between the start year and end year.
Persons in decile
Persons in decile refer to the number and percentage of people in each income group at the start and end of the period. By definition, each decile contains 10 percent of the population. However, the distribution will change for subgroups.
Immobility Mean (IM)
Immobility Mean (IM) is defined as the share of people (%) found in the same income group at the start and end of the period. This means that IM will be 100 if there is no mobility (i.e. all persons stay in the same income group at the start and the end of the period), and it will take the value 0 if all persons change income group during the period.
Equivalised disposable income
Disposable income is the sum of all taxable and tax-free income minus taxes and negative transfers. The income is both including and excluding capital gains/losses, that is, the gain/loss arising from a sale (realization) of assets, for example, stocks, mutual funds or real estate.

Incomes are equivalised, which means that the household disposable income is adjusted for household size by using a weight system. The unit of measurement is equivalised disposable income for persons.
Household type
Household type indicates the composition of the household at the starting year of the respective period.
Single with children 0–19 years refers to a single parent with at least one child aged 0-19, and where appropriate, other persons aged 20 years and older with a parent-child relationship with one of the reference persons in the household. A parent-child relationship is created if a person is a biological parent, adoptive parent, guardian or ´´Other person´´ to someone in the household.
Cohabiting refers to persons who are married/registered partners alternative persons living together in consensual union.
Cohabiting with children 0–19 years refers to cohabiting persons with at least one child aged 0-19, and where appropriate, other persons aged 20 years and older with a parent-child relationship with one of the reference persons in the household. A parent-child relationship is created if a person is a biological parent, adoptive parent, guardian or ´´Other person´´ to someone in the household.
Other household refers to households that are not classified as single or cohabiting. Children refer to people aged 0-19, independently of a parent-child relationship to another person in the household.
