Footnotes

The preliminary index figures are published two months after the referenceperiod. After another twelve months the index figures are updated and becomes definitive. When Labour cost index are used for priceadjustments in contracts the percentage change should be calculated between two preliminary or two definitive index figures. To avoid seasonal variation the percentage change should also be calculated between the same month in different years.
