Locality
Since 1960 Statistics Sweden has defined areas with continuous buildings and a population of at least 200 inhabitants. Localities thus include everything from the largest cities to small areas with only 200 inhabitants. Statistics Sweden does not have its own definition of sparsely populated areas or countryside areas.

Number of gainfully employed

The gainfully employed population comprises any person who has worked for at least one hour per week during the month of November. Those temporarily absent during the survey period, for instance due to sick leave, are also included. The same definition is being used in the register-based labour market statistics (RAMS).
