A revision of the Swedish Standard Industrial Classification, SNI, was carried out. The new SNI2002 standard was introduced at the turn of the year 2002/2003 and is used for all activity classification in the register from 2003 (by the Swedish national tax board from 2002-12-16). The Swedish Standard SNI 2002 is based on the European Union Business Classification standard NACE rev 1.1.
