4 County region I

County region I includes the counties of Västernorrland, Jämtland, Västerbotten and Norrbotten.

5 County region II

County region II includes the counties of Stockholm excluding municipalities in Greater Stockholm, Uppsala, Södermanland, Östergötland, Halland excluding municipalities in Greater Göteborg, Västra Götaland excluding municipalities in Greater Göteborg, Värmland, Örebro, Västmanland, Dalarna and Gävleborg. Since 1998 Habo municipality and Mullsjö municipality have been transferred from county region II to county region III.

6 County region III

County region III includes the counties of Jönköping, Kronoberg, Kalmar, Gotland, Blekinge and Skåne excluding municipalities in Greater Malmö. Since 1998 Habo municipality and Mullsjö municipality have been transferred from county region II to county region III.
